The Comets dominated through the air last week with Spencer Pnacek throwing for three touchdowns and over 150 yards passing. The offense is starting to click and with that spread offense firing on all cylinders, it's opening up a lot of holes for the run game. Truman Webb is a shifty running back, but with the way the offensive line is blocking and the effectiveness of the passing game, Truman will be looking for a big game tomorrow against Sacred Heart. Tyler Stambersky also had himself a great game last week. He had three catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns. You almost expect this kid to get in the end zone when he touches the ball. He'll be looking to embarrass that Sacred Heart secondary tomorrow as well.
You really can't say enough about how well the defense played last week. Each and every player on defense played extremely well and played "Comet Fast." They all showed discipline and knew their assignments. The defensive ends never let any reverses outside of them and kept plays contained. The secondary for the Comets was unmatched. They had two interceptions, one which was taken back for a 50 yard touchdown by Cody Finney. Finney does play defensive line for the Comets, but with those hands and that speed, you'd almost like to see him at a strong safety position. Numerous passes were batted down and the Comets only allowed one big play. Sacred Heart looks to spread the ball out and air it out as well, but if the secondary can hold up like they did last week, the Irish are in for a long Friday night.
The Irish are on a four game win streak, but the Comets are coming into this game with a chip on their shoulder from the loss to the Irish last year. The game will be played at home tomorrow at 7:00 o'clock. The stadium will be electric with the dedicated Coleman fans and of course the Coleman Blue-Crew will be in attendance getting the team fired up! Be sure to come out and support the team tomorrow!
The Comets hold their helmets up after their win last week. They'll be looking to raise those helmets in victory tomorrow.
