The Comets had their final game of the season on Friday, traveling to Saginaw to take on the Chargers of Valley Lutheran. The Comets looked to spoil the Chargers senior night, as it was their last home game of the season. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Valley Lutheran jumped out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and continued their dominance into the second quarter; the lead was 27-0 by half time.
By the end of the third, the Charges had a commanding lead at 40-0. The Comets lone score of the night would come with about 4 minutes remaining in the ballgame. QB Spencer Pnacek threw a 1 yard TD pass to WR Ben Kemp after a lengthily run off the kick-off from Junior Truman Webb; the Comets would start the drive at their 40 yard line. Comets would go for two to make the score 8-47, this would be the final.
The Comets showed a lot of heart and resilience on the field Friday night for their last game of the season, showing that even though a team can go 1-7 on the season, they can still have fun.
