The Coleman Comets aim for their first victory of the season on Friday night, their homecoming game, against the Montabella Mustangs. Both teams are coming into the game off difficult losses and looking for their first wins of the season. Expect an emotional game between the two in front of what figures to be a capacity crowd.
The Comets should be able to get the aerial attack going vs a Mustangs secondary that is susceptible to allowing big plays. Montabella is allowing an average of 51 points per game. Look for the lethal combination of quarterback Spencer Pnacek and wide receiver Jason Beckner to put up more big numbers in this contest. The Comets have struggled with ball security as of late which has kept the defense on the field for too many snaps. Taking care of the ball will be huge so look for Coleman to attack with the quick passing game.
Prediction
The Comets will come out emotionally charged in front of a packed crowd for homecoming, leading to a quick start. The Mustangs battle back in the second quarter making it a one score game heading into half. The second half however belongs all to Coleman and they come away with their first of the season between two scrappy teams.
Coleman 20 Montabella 6
